Organisational development: inclusion of newly arrived refugees with teaching qualifications and teachers with a multicultural background in the union. Step up effort to recruit and include teachers with a multicultural background to positions within the union. Initiatives for improving integration in the education system.
Activities
Recruiting students, communication, training of union representatives, external co-operation and dialogue. Fast track accreditation of teachers with an immigrant and refugee background. UEN co-operates together with Oslo Metropolitan University. Lobbying for ensuring a good national framework conditions for supporting newcomers in education and training. UEN emphasizes the needs of newcomers and secure resources.
Results
UEN co-operates together with Oslo Metropolitan University. UEN holds lectures for student teachers on the norwegian labour market, trade unions and social dialogue. UEN has a pilot going on connecting pensioned teachers and foreign teacher students.
